Well-Informed
You’ve reached a turning point in your relationship that requires compassionate, curious and well-informed support to nurture meaningful conversation and decision making. Both you and your loved one, colleague, or other community member need to feel safe enough to hear and understand the fuller story of this turning point so you can use that understanding to envision and create a better future. Both mediation and collaborative divorce work with Jasmine offer these resources to help you navigate this pivotal moment.

FAQs

To get started, fill out the initial intake form that can be found here or at the hyperlink at the bottom of this page. This will give me enough information to understand the scope of the mediation and needs of all of the parties, so we can have a more informed consultation call. I will reach out within two business days of receiving your form to discuss next steps.
-
You and I will determine the number and duration of sessions based on your unique needs. Typically, clients need between two and eight sessions depending on the complexity of the matters they wish to discuss and the current resources and challenges that exist for their relationship. Each session lasts no longer than three hours with built-in breaks.
-
Mediation sessions will occur virtually or, when possible, in-person at a mutually agreeable location. All participants will have a chance to consider and verbalise what setting best accommodates their needs before we decide altogether where to hold the mediation session/s.
-
The cost varies based on the type of mediation and number/duration of sessions. Mediation for child, family and neighbor disputes is $200 hourly. Mediation for workplace conflicts is $275 hourly.
Insurance does not cover mediation services.
Costs for travel or preparation work beyond the initial consultation call and mediation sessions will be billed at the hourly rate.
-
All mediation fees must be paid 24 hours prior to the first session. I request 24 hours’ notice of cancellation in order to refund the fee for the cancelled session. Fees may be refunded or the sessions may be rescheduled at no additional cost if late cancellation is due to an uncontrollable and/or life threatening emergency.

I am not a licensed attorney, though I do have a Juris Doctor (JD) degree. Mediation at Rootwork can happen prior to initiating any legal proceedings and retaining an attorney or after your attorney/s and/or a judge have deemed this the next appropriate step for your legal case.
I always recommend you have an attorney of your choosing review the terms of any agreement we draft before you sign it. Further, I am open to planning for the inclusion of attorneys in the mediation process and scheduling breaks in a mediation session for you to discuss the process with your attorney if needed.
Ultimately, if you are involved in a legal proceeding, please keep in mind that the judge’s decisions concerning your case take precedence.
